10 Advices for Umrah

If you are planning your Umrah trip soon then you should look at these 10 pieces of advice before you go.

  • You need to do your homework before you leave for Umrah. Other than religious things, you also need to learn about the places you are visiting, which is Saudi Arabia in general and Mecca, Medina in particular.
  • Find about the company you would be having during your entire Umrah trip. Make sure that your company is exactly the same as you expect the people to be, who can accompany you on this spiritual event.
  • You should know or learn about all the rules of Ihram. There are some very simple rules of Ihram, which a person may easily ignore if he/she has not learned them thoroughly.
  • You need to make sure that you go for a hygienic haircut, which is essential at the end of Umrah. Make sure that your barber uses the brand new disposable blade to cut your hair instead of a used one as it may be highly unhygienic if he doesn’t.
  • Carry Vaseline handy with you. While wearing Ihram, you cannot wear any extra pieces of clothing, which may give rise to body irritation so it is always a comfort to carry Vaseline.
  • If you dream to pray in Rawadah during Umrah, the best time is the night time. This time, you will not find too much crowd and you can easily perform your prayers.
  • The best time to visit the holy sites of Medina is early morning. Sites are not crowded too early and you can have your time to gain spiritual wisdom from all these sites.
  • It is essential to download free call apps like Viber in your phone to contact your loved ones free of cost through WiFi or 3G roaming connections. It is also necessary to keep your phone on airplane mode and turn on the WiFi so extra charges are not deducted.
  • Umrah is the best time to communicate with other people and have healthy conversations. While being on a different land, ask people about their native land as there are people belonging to every part of the world.
  • Umrah is the time where you should not only pray while being on the spiritual places but 24/7. The land itself is holy and spiritual so it is quite a possibility that every time you pray, Allah will answer it!
